Spring is a great time to think about what's working, and what needs a refresh. Around the shop lately, the most common thing we're helping with is the Windows 10-to-11 transition. It's something we do almost every day, and honestly, it scares a lot of people more than it needs to.

Microsoft ended support for Windows 10 in October 2025. If you're still running it, your system is no longer receiving security updates, which means real, ongoing risk every day you stay on it.

If that sounds like you, don't panic. That's exactly what we're here for.

Still on the fence? You're not alone, a lot of people have been putting this off. The good news is it's not as painful as it sounds, especially when someone walks you through it. We do this every day. It goes smoother than you'd expect.

Quick Tech Tips: Preparing for Windows 11

• Check compatibility first:  Search 'PC Health Check' in your Start menu. It'll tell you in seconds whether your machine can run Windows 11 by default. If it cannot, we have ways to work around this issue. 

• Update your credentials now:  Your Microsoft and Google accounts need to be current before you upgrade. Most headaches come from forgotten passwords and outdated recovery info.

• Set up 2FA:  Two-factor authentication protects your accounts even if your password gets compromised. We'll walk you through it.

• Back up first:  Always. Before any major update.
